Blizzard Says More Discounts Are on the Way for Diablo IV Cosmetics

Diablo IV, the highly anticipated installment in the Diablo franchise, has faced criticism for its pricing of cosmetic items. These items, which include equipment sets and mounts, can cost players a significant amount of real-world money. For example, some equipment sets can cost as much as 2,800 Platinum, while horse mounts are priced at $65. However, recent news from Blizzard suggests that discounts may be on the way.

Adam Fletcher, a community manager known as PezRadar, shared on the Blizzard forums that despite player claims, no items have actually had price increases. He clarified the current pricing of Platinum, the in-game currency used to purchase these cosmetic items:

500 Platinum: $4.99

1,000 Platinum: $9.99

2,800 Platinum: $24.99

5,700 Platinum: $49.99

11,500 Platinum: $99.99

18,500 Platinum: $149.99

It's important to note that Diablo IV's latest premium horse mount cannot be bought with Platinum, indicating that some cosmetic items are exclusively available for real-world money.

Fletcher also mentioned that the product team has been listening to player feedback and that discounted items may be available in the coming weeks or months. Additionally, changes to other items, such as the Portal Pack, are expected to be announced soon.

While the pricing of cosmetic items in Diablo IV has sparked controversy, it's essential to remember that these items are purely cosmetic and do not impact gameplay. Players can enjoy the game's content without purchasing these items, making them a luxury rather than a necessity.

As Diablo IV continues to evolve, players can expect to see more changes and updates to its cosmetic offerings. Whether these changes will satisfy player concerns remains to be seen, but Blizzard's commitment to listening to feedback is a positive sign for the game's future.
